So don’t panic but there is a 100% GLUTEN FREE café in Belfast called the White Rabbit Patisserie, it is a 5 minute uber ride from the city centre.
When you walked in you were greeted by a very tempting looking glass cabinet filled with homemade gluten free goodies both savoury and sweet. When we got chatting to the owner she explained she was a coeliac who opened the patisserie because she was fed up of people saying food was gluten free but it wasn’t when she dined out.
They had a couple of little tables available to eat in with a massive menu filled with lots of gluten free goodies!
I LOVE a hot chocolate but as you know they are incredibly difficult to find when out and about as many contain wheat in their powders. So I was very happy to see one on the drinks menu, it was so rich and chocolatey.
I went for the ham and cheese crepe, i’d never had a gluten free crepe before so was very excited to try it! My boyfriend Ryan went for the ham and cheese panini. It was delicious, there was so much filling in both the crepe and panini (obviously I HAD to try Ryan’s)the bread was so nice, normally Ryan hates gluten free bread but he said it was really nice.
Even though we were both absolutely stuffed after that massive lunch we made room for dessert… we had the lemon meringue tart and the salted chocolate tart. Both were incredible, they had so much flavour and the pastry was lovely, you would never of guessed it was gluten free!
White Rabbit Patisserie is a MUST visit when coming to Belfast, it was a coeliacs dream. Here is a picture of me looking incredibly happy.
