My Gluten Free Guide To Barcelona

Weekend away with the girls? Barcelona here we come! I had heard so many amazing things about Barcelona it was a no brainer we went there. There was SO many 100% gluten free cafes in the city centre which meant I could freely admire the beautiful sights of Barcelona without worrying where I was going to eat. So here is my gluten free guide to Barcelona.

  1. Jansana Pastisseria

Jansana is a 100% gluten free bakery offering an impressive range of sweet and savoury options. They have a counter full of freshly baked sweet treats from Croissants to lemon meringue pies and everything in between! You can also make your own sandwich, choosing  your bread and filling.

2. Messie Sin Gluten

Messie Sin Gluten is a  100% gluten free pizzeria which offers both gluten free pizza and pasta with some yummy cake options for afters. The ‘bend’ in the pizza was incredible! It has a really chill vibe about the place, with lots of gluten free beer options too.

3. Amiette

Amiette is a 100% gluten free bakery offering delicious fresh cakes/pastries but also lots of savoury options including panini’s and breads .The café is based just in the outer area of the city centre but luckily was a 2 minute walk from our apartment!

4. Gocce di Latte

Gocce di Latte is a small icecream company in Barcelona. They have two shops in Barcelona on the same street, one which sells ‘normal’ ice cream and one which sells gluten free ice creams/cones only, making it completely free from cross contamination! |There was so many choices and the gluten free cone was delicious!

5. Gula Sana Gluten Free

Gula Sana Gluten Free is a gluten free café offering meal deals, dishes of the day and both sweet and savoury goodies. The display cabinet is filled full of sweet treats and their extensive menu means there is something for everyone! The staff were very knowledgeable about other allergies as well as gluten.

Barcelona is one of the lucky places to have Mcdonalds which offers gluten free! Since my diagnosis I have not had Mcdonalds so this was a real treat. They said they have a separate area dedicated to gluten free food reducing the risk of cross contamination. Here I am looking exceptionally happy eating a quarter pounder!

There were so many AMAZING gluten free places I wanted to visit whilst in Barcelona but unfortunately I didn’t get time to try them all, I hope to go back soon and visit everywhere! If you have any other recommendations in Barcelona please leave them in the comments so we can all enjoy! Thanks, happy travels x
