I visited Cote, a French restaurant in the centre of Manchester after a recommendation from a fellow gluten free blogger gf.eats.mcr (Instagram name) They are Coeliac UK accredited so I had high hopes, I was not disappointed!
When we arrived they had a lunchtime offer on, two courses for £11.50. They had a separate gluten free Al A Carte menu but they hadn’t got round to making a separate gluten free lunch menu so the ordinary menu was annotated to highlight what we could have, what dishes they could amend and what dishes we simply couldn’t have.
There was a lot of gluten free choice, I went for the Moules Frites in the end. The staff were very knowledgeable on gluten free and understood the importance of it for coeliacs. When my food arrived I asked if it was definitely gluten free as it was a different waiter who took my order, they immediately took my food away and rung the kitchen to double check. They assured me it was gluten free and it was no problem for them just to do that double check to put my mind at rest.
The mussels were absolutely incredible, perfectly cooked and the white wine and garlic sauce was full of flavour. There was also a great range of gluten free desserts on offer. I had the crème caramel, I know this is the most common gluten free dessert but I absolutely love it. The crème caramel was so thick and creamy and even came with a gluten free flag which I LOVED!!!!!
Overall I was SO impressed with Cote. The staff were so aware of gluten free, they were very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble for them. There was a lot of choice on the menu’s and the food was amazing, such high quality. I will definitely be visiting this restaurant again.
